your student visa: $170.00 Canadian Dollars
Certified Cheque or money order ONLY.
The
NZ High Commission in Ottawa will not accept Credit Card payments. Even though the application form has it listed
to be able to do so, the New Zealand High Commission in Ottawa does not provide
this service at present.

timeline for you: The student visa application
process could take a few weeks or longer. Advanced planning is advised.
Financial
Undertaking:
Secondary: Students will need to fill out the financial undertaking
form as they will be studying for more than 36 weeks allowable to not include
it.
Primary: Students will need to fill out the financial
undertaking form as they will be studying for more than 36 weeks allowable
to not include it.
University: Students will need to fill out the financial undertaking
form as they will be studying for more than 36 weeks allowable to not include
it.

WORKING: Teacher Education Students can apply for authority to work when they arrive in NZ. The NZ High Commission in Ottawa is unable to process this portion of your visa.
HOW
TO APPLY:
Students will need to supply
the New Zealand High Commission with the following:
1.
Offer of place (sent Directly to the NZ Commission by
Institution once the full tuition has been paid. Students do not need to include
this in their application.)
2.
Receipt (sent Directly to the NZ High Commission by Institution
once the full tuition fees has been paid. Students do not need to include
this in their application.)
3.
Accommodation requirement (sent Directly to the NZ High
Commission by Institution once the full tuition fees has been paid. This has
been stated that this will be organized by you when you arrive.)
4.
Financially capable of undertaking this period of study
(see above - financial undertaking form filled out for both Primary and Secondary
Teacher Education visa applicants and Undergraduate and Graduate visa applicants.
This must be stamped by your bank.)
5.
Valid original Passport
6.
Application form (signed and completed in full)
Postage: CANTEACH recommends that all students
use a couriered envelope when sending material to the New Zealand High Commission.
A returned self-addressed couriered envelope included along with the
necessary documents for visa application is also strongly recommended. This will save time and be significantly more reliable.
